Choosing
the best pallet rack system for
your business is not as easy as it seems. Your pallet rack
should be able to serve your company’s storage and shipping
needs now; yet as the years go by, your business will grow
and your needs will change. At first, many businesses piece
together a pallet rack system that simply gets the job done.
Then, once a business arrives at a point where warehouse efficiency

But

needs, all pallet rack is made up of some basic components,
which include:

Upright frames: the vertical pieces of pallet rack, creating
the “walls” of the unit

Load beams: the horizontal pieces of pallet rack, creating
an area for shelves

Bays: these are the areas left for storage, more specifically,
the areas in between and separated by the upright frames

Decking: Decks are the horizontal shelf surfaces in pallet
rack, often made of wire decking but also available in particle
board, plywood, and solid steel
